ECPN Steering Committee
The ECPN Steering Committee brings together students and early-career preventionists who guide ECPN programs, activities, and engagement across the Society for Prevention Research.
What Does the Steering Committee Do?
The ECPN Steering Committee helps guide the work of the Early Career Preventionist Network and supports opportunities for early-career involvement throughout SPR.
- Develops and oversees ECPN programs and activities
- Coordinates ECPN subcommittees and volunteer opportunities
- Supports ECPN programming at the SPR Annual Meeting
- Represents the interests and professional development needs of early-career preventionists
- Connects ECPN with other SPR committees and task forces through designated liaisons
Areas of Involvement
Steering Committee members may participate in ECPN subcommittees and serve as liaisons to SPR committees and task forces.

What Is the Commitment?
Steering Committee members typically:
- Commit approximately two hours per month
- Participate in a monthly Steering Committee conference call
- Attend calls or meetings for the ECPN or SPR committees in which they participate
- Contribute to projects, programs, and activities that support students and early-career preventionists
Who Can Participate?
Participation on the ECPN Steering Committee is open to students and early-career preventionists who want to become actively involved in ECPN and SPR.
Steering Committee members are not elected. Interested ECPN participants are encouraged to learn more and explore available opportunities to contribute.
