The Prevention Science community mourns the loss of Dr. Sheppard “Shep” Kellam. Shep passed away peacefully on July 12, 2026. Shep was a long-time member of the Society for Prevention Research, an SPR Fellow, and President from 1998 to 2001. He will be greatly missed.
JeeWon Cheong, Ph.D.

The Prevention Science community mourns the loss of Dr. JeeWon Cheong. JeeWon passed away on May 12, 2026, after a brief illness. JeeWon was a long-time member of the Society and contributed in many volunteer service roles. She will be greatly missed.
