2027 ANNUAL MEETING

In the spirit of healing, we would like to acknowledge and honor the lands of the Nacotchtank (Anacostan) Peoples in what is now the Washington, D.C. area; also the lands in what is now Northern Virginia in the territory of the Doeg (Tauxenent) People, who had their main village site just north of Aquia Creek, and other sites of Miompse at Mason Neck, Virginia, Quantico Creek (Pamacocack), Powell’s Creek (Yosococomico), and Neabsco Creek (Nipsco). We also acknowledge and honor other Algonquian Peoples of this territory- the Kinwaw Pasketikweya or Piscataway Conoy on the Maryland side.
