SPR Undergraduate Prevention Science Training Program

- Program Description: The Society for Prevention Research (SPR) is seeking applicants to a 1-year program to support aspiring prevention scientists with a focus on increasing underrepresented populations in prevention science research. Through this program, undergraduate students will receive an introduction to prevention science and how to pursue a career in prevention science through virtual workshops and SPR 2024 conference
- Eligibility: Eligible students must have completed a minimum of two years post-secondary education and meet the definition of an underrepresented minority, as defined by NIH. A SPR member must sponsor the student’s application to the program and both the member and student may receive financial support to attend the SPR conference.
This is a rigorous and competitive program that has the goal of assisting underrepresented undergraduate students in pursuing a career in prevention science. This is a 1-year program, and it is expected that scholars remain actively engaged for the full length of the program. Scholars should be interested in prevention science and available to attend the SPR 2024 conference.
